Do Socks Develop 'Handedness' ?

Putting away some recently washed socks, I notice the older ones appear to have to some extent adopted the shape of a right or left foot. 

And don't fit so well, if they're not on the correct foot, based on the handedness they've developed.

Have you noticed this ?
