And, until this day, the French whine about those nasty soviets who refused to immediately enter the war so that THEY could take on the brunt of the casualties of facing the Germans, while the allies could take it easy and advance when both sides are exhausted.

I don't think I've heard a Frenchman boy or girl whine this particular whine ever.  Not a single time.

And this is from a guy who thinks the French are nonstop whiners.
