There was fighting between 1992-2005.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Grapes_of_Wrath  Here's an example.

Except for a bit in 1958, Lebanon was actually pretty stable and peaceful from 1948 to 1975.  They used to call it the Switzerland of the Middle East.
