We had a bank holiday but I had to spend six hours at work. :(

Now I'm home, finishing a bottle of porto and trolling Languish, while I wait for the GW2 stress test to start.

There wasn't a lot of propping up going on, considering Russian Reds had their own problems at the time. The Whites were more propped up by Germans.

Let it be known that we scandinavians see the finnish civil war as a conflict between finland being one of us and being part of russia. I'm sorry we care and love our finnish brethren.

Yeah, the Poles don't get much credit for things, but the week they saved Western Civilization from the Bolsheviks is the probably the biggest slight of forgetfulness.  And man, how they paid for it later.

Anybody ever read Issac Babel's Red Cavalry about the war?  Probably the best, most brilliant combat narrative of the 20th century.  Talk about monkeys and footballs.
