Morrowind but with a modern control system would be nice.

Militsioner, crazy looking escape a giant Russian cop game I've been following for a while, is having a public play test.
I'm giving it a look.

These Russians do not seem to be nationalists. At least some of them fled the country with everything going down.

I stumbled across one of those rare beasts in FM24 - a lowest tier club with room in its budget. :D

Running Illescas, and though they were expected to go into relegation we're competing for promotion after the winter break. ^_^

But my Chief Scout has ... a style.

But better than my DoF who just looks creepy.

I had a chance to hire Julio Iglesias. :w00t: Unfortunately, it turned out it wasn't the singer. :(

I did sign Dani Rojas, though. No, not "Football is Life" guy from Ted Lasso, but an experienced goalie. Who's like 50/50 on whether he has a great match or a shit one.

We lost first round in the national cup against Celta de Vigo from La Liga ... we played 1-1 and lost on penalties. :(

And the right winger (not political) Molina has a crazy year where he goes from strength to strength. Unfortunately, his contract expires end of season. I tried to extend his contract but he insisted on going from €15k p.a. to €180k, and I can't afford that. :(

While I used some of the wiggle room in the finances for players (the club was using 400k out of a 1M budget :o ), I think hiring better coaches played a much bigger role in improving the team quality. Moving from "all red" attributes to "yellow/green" was tremendously helpful, and training performance team average has been around 7.5 at all times. The board even expanded the staff by two coaches. Unfortunately, I accidentally fired my performance analyst to hire a better one, but the board firmly refuses to let me sign a new one (and I can't find someone who could do it as secondary job reasonably well). :(

You're tempting me now! And since I'm back from my holidays and swamped with work I absolute cannot afford a FM save

Quote from: Norgy on September 01, 2025, 05:02:05 AMI want Morrowind remade, with its clunky levelling. but with combat that makes sense. Nix hounds? Watch out! A Nord is coming.

Some guy is apparently porting Morrowind into Elden Ring.

I hate you Syt

Started a save with CE Mataró (where I live), which had a spell of success in the 2000s when it came up to the Spanish 3rd tier, but then had a precipitious fall. It was disbanded in 2011 amidst sporting and financial ruin, and then a successor team reformed the same year with the same crest and colors. It's currently languishing in the Spanish 7th tier (used a mod that expands the Spanish leagues - and was surprised to see it includes a smattering of real players for the team, even if the majority are regens).

The team's main asset (and money pit), is that it has an humongous stadium for the division, a 4,500 full-seater. It's favored to go up (although it didn't in real life). Team's sponsors are a smattering of local business including: 1) the 24h pharmacist where I buy sleep pills when I have a bout of insomnia 2) my gym 3) the realtor that owns my apartment

Team's nickname is "the big-heads" after the traditional moniker for Mataronians, although within the town the team is rather known as "the bees" after the kit's colors. However, everybody around here has given up on the team, so much in fact that their wikipedia page hasn't been updated since 2016 :D

But I haven't!

FM is one of those games where it is quite easy to play alongside work, if you really want.

With old classic management games I always liked playing as lower league teams and working my way up, but I've never been able to get going with FM like that. I don't know why.

Yeah, in old FMs I have absurd amounts of hours played (like 2000+), just because I have it on while I work, and just check it from time to time to play a game during a break.

Just play the diamond formation and win everything.

My Lyn 1896 save progressed.

But I am sort of fed up with selling absolutely every talent we have. We had a great team. Now I have a huge bank account and very little in terms of players. Given the rule of home-grown players... I guess I need to register those peasants with zero talent.

The use of having 19 million Euros sitting in the bank is debatable when you lose 0-4. But nobody wants to join.

"I play in the French second division. I am happy here".

Sod off.

Yeah, that's the stressing part of lower league saves. You have to run a conveyor belt of talent because it's impossible to retain good players.

My Illescas run went for a bit of a loop yesterday. I've tied some great players to me for 2-3 years, but some emerging stars are expiring this year, I can't pay their new demands, and offloading them during winter break didn't work.

I did get rid of Dani Rojas, though, and ate the penalty fee, because he was just way too consistant. I picked up a cheap young free agent with great stats as back up (my youth GKs all suck), and my original first keeper is back between the posts now.

I was playing with one striker for a while, but then another striker was asking for more time - I denied it, but then half the team revolted. Now I'm playing with two strikers - my actual star, contracted for 2 more years, and the other star who will leave end of season (and maybe I get to sell them first :P ).

Also, my two best central defenders are both unrivalled in their positions. And don't mesh at all. One of them could play on the right, but that's where my star defender goes. :D "Fortunately" one of the two center defenders broke his foot now, so I won't have to worry about that. :P

I need to pay more attention to squad depth and position versatility, I think. :hmm:  :lmfao:

Went full Brian Clough on the squad.

Won 1-0 against Liverpool. Pride ensued.
