That's insane. I guess Nvidia doesn't make enough money from AI companies and bitcoin miners.

Indiana Jones is getting good reviews, but the system requirements are pretty tough.

Syt

PC Gamer reviewed it well, their main complete being some (not many) forced stealth sections that are apparently not great.

Incidentally I kept an eye on Star Wars Outlaws' patches - it had similar complaints at launch, and it seems the devs have been changing most - you still start in stealth, but if you mess up, you can shoot your way through. Some forced stealth sections remain, but they've made them a lot easier.

I welcome this - not a big fan of stealth games, and esp. if it's forced in games and even worse if you have to start over if you get caught. :D

You are missing out not playing Outlaws, Syt. It's merely a decent game but has awesome Star Wars ambience.

Don't they release a maintenance patch every year?

But two, with some stuff?...

Quote from: Syt on November 13, 2024, 07:59:52 AMI remember seeing MS-DOS RPGs for 140 German Marks (70 EUR) in store. And I think I paid 120 or 140 for The Legend of Zelda on NES (and similar prices for SNES later on; DM 120 was the baseline, some a bit cheaper, some a bit more expensive).

Overpriced retrogames? Welcome back to 10-15 ago. They were cheap (SNES) when the Playstation arrived, that's all. They have not decreased, even when ported to new platforms.
Check how much Suikoden II (Playstation) is worth on ebay.

Looking at it this seems mostly aimed at the modders who have been carrying the game's torch since it was dropped. Almost entirely new modding functionalities added by the patch. And IIRC they said last time that these patches are done by some devs in their spare time.

Played a bit of Indy. Very good so far - playing on ultra in 1440p/60FPS. Very good looking game.

Troy Baker does a spot on young Harrison Ford vice impression. Not sure who they got for Marcus Brody (RIP Denholm Elliott), but they're also pretty good.

The intro level is prime nostalgia bait, but I didn't mind :D And seeing the Lucasfilm Games logo ...

I played the first hour of Thank goodness youre here.

It is very funny indeed.
I like that the menus are written in Lancashire /Yorkshire (It seems to straddle the two)

But... It's not really much of a game. It's like a vaguely interactive flash animation.

Some vibes of a point and click game I started making yearrrs ago but didn't get far on.

At least it will keep the house warm during winter.

But seriously. Wonder if anyone has ever figured out a way for that waste heat. I've heard of data centres being used for district heating but something on a domestic scale would be nice.

I started assassins creed valhalla.

Haven't played AC since I lost my black flag disc near the end of the game.
I think I'm missing the modern day plot.
But what I really want is vikings.

It feels very different indeed to what I remember. Super difficult combat. Seems to have gone down a Jedi Survivor twitch block path?
Also really weird gender select where you can choose male, female or default... Which research tells me is mostly female but something in the story changes that. I suspect the timey wimey weirdness from the prologue.
