They emailed me about it. I was like still fugly? Yup.

I really enjoyed the last one. What is different about this one? Just the Grand Campaign? I guess that is fun you only really  got that experience in the Spain scenario before.

My glorious French Armies would slowly melt away :weep:

Ugly?

Yeah, as with well all AGEOD games, it looks like non-pretty butt. Well maybe not March of Eagles but then really that was P'dox gloss.

I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Anyone played Beyond Sol? Its a rather fun little game. Mix of Escape Velocity and city builder and...yeah. Nice.

I'm very fond now of 80 days. A game I bought on black Friday steam sales. It's based on Jules vernes around the world in 80 days. But in a more steampunk environment. It's a text adventure more like you writing the book by choosing the route you take as Passe-partout . Because of this it has high replayability. Also not heavy on systems requirement.

I'm two months late to this news, but I just saw that Paradox bought White Wolf Publishing (of World of Darkness fame {Vampire the Masquerade })!!!

Two of my favorite companies merging, I really hope they don't fuck it up!

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Tainted.

I hope they don't fuck it up is a taint worthy endorsement now?

Between my toilet trips I've watched a let's play of Until Dawn (PS4 exclusive). Now, that's a horror game I can't get behind. It's centered around 8 teenagers on a party weekend in a house on a private mountain. It throws in basically all the horror movie tropes, with the gameplay a mixture of choose your own adventure and quick time events. Basically, it's like a Telltale adventure with huge graphics budgets and casting Hayden Panettiere and Peter Stormare. Ultimate goal: keeping all the cast alive Until Dawn (in the playthrough I watched, four die). The game makes a big deal out of how your decisions (and fuck ups) carry forward and affect the story, and watching once makes it pretty convincing, though I guess like with the Telltale Games you will start noticing how the cogs turn after a second or third playthrough and lose some of the illusion.

It's a horror game I could play, I think - much more story driven, and while there are jump scares, they're not the only trick the game has (unlike so many survival horror games on Steam that are basically variants on Amnesia).

The graphics are pretty, though.

Okay, after watching this question and answer on where Paradox and White Wolf intend to go... you can put this down as a endorsement! :w00t::w00t::w00t:

Why is there no end to open world sandbox survival games on Steam Early Access? Is any of those games *ever* going to be out of Early Access before its player base disappears?
