I'll share:

breakfast: Peanut butter & jelly sammich

Lunch: 6 mozzarella sticks

Dinner: Tilapia with carrots and some sort of cheezy potato.

Tilapia?  :x

Its fine. You just have to give it some enhancements. Quit being a food snob.

In related news, I read in The Economist that the fish stocks of most US fisheries have now recovered.

Meanwhile, the Euros continue to hunt the last few blue fin tuna into extinction.

You know, I was happy about this, until I looked into it:

QuoteOn May 9th the House passed legislation forbidding NOAA from developing an innovative means of apportioning fishing quotas, known as catch shares. These are long-term, aiming to give fishermen a stake in the future of their fisheries; market-based, since they can be traded; and, in practice, good for fish. Sadly, the two Republican congressmen behind the ban consider they have been designed "to destroy every aspect of American freedom under the guise of conservation".

Incidentally, Greek yogurt with fruit is a great breakfast, high in protein and low in carbs. I feel like I have weay more energy when I eat it than oatmeal or cereal.

Why did that make you unhappy about the recovery of US fisheries?

I agree with Larch about tilapia.  It's the steakums of seafood.

I gather tilapia is now popular because it isn't heavily over-fished (at least yet).

As Yi mentioned, it's all farmed, mostly in Asia, in dubious hygienic conditions, due to water pollution in Asian rivers (it's a freshwater fish).

I honestly think some folks are in to it because (at least around here) it's a 'new' fish with an exotic-sounding name, same as with 'Chilean sea bass'.

Well, at least they won't spend much, as it's the cheapo fish used mostly in canteen menus and the like.

Of course you have to enhance it, it has no flavour at all.

If it has no flavor at all, what caused this :x reaction?

Because it's the lowest kind of commercial fish there is. It's only marginally better than Nile perch, which is ultra harmful to the environment to boot.

:x is reserved for foods I actively dislike, such as dill pickles.
