We need a 9 there.

[edit] Llorente warming up. :)

Pedrito

Better than I expected, till now.

Balotelli better be subbed between halves, because otherwise he'll surely get a red card.

Yeah, and we have Di Natale wrming up.   :glare: Good player, but completely unable to stand the pressure, and always severly underperformed with the national team.

Good game so far. Italy will win unless del Bosque puts on someone who will actually shoot. Balotelli to get a red in the 80' unless subbed off.

ESPN says Italy will play 3-5-2 and Spain with no formal strikers.

Excellent.

If you play with no strikers, are you hoping to bore the other team to death? Is this a common strategy?

It is traditional for Italy

FFS, why Torres? :weep:

He's a parody of himself now. Maybe now Llorente will get a look in???

I liked him.

Of course 90% of the goal was Pirlo's (), but all in all, Di Natale was great getting behind the defense and finishing.

He's always been like that at the National team. He could be the greatest player in the world if only he got a lobotomy. As long as he operates on instinct alone he can do anything. But once he has time to think, he always fucks up.

An unexpectedly good game between two teams who 20 years ago would have bored us to death. Best game of the tournie so far, I think. Italy had the better first half, I thought, taking the game to Spain but in the second half  felt they let off a bit and no longer threatened Spain's weak left flank. Even before Italy scored I thought Spain were starting to control the game. 1-1 fair score.
