Jake did cross the line, but I'm not all that worked up about it.  His joke was awkwardly placed, so it was a pretty big swing & a miss.

Well I take exception to him calling your mother names.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

You guys are hilarious

"Your mom" is a "big swing"?

No, it's a pointless, juvenile, insipid "comeback" worthy of a grade-school spat or a junior high stoner joke.

In other words, it's on the same level as your trademark "whore pills" line and thus a perfectly appropriate response :)

"Whore pills"... wow.

It's been a while since I used that, so I figured I'd throw it in there.
It just doesn't make sense, haven't literally 98% of American women used birth control in their lives?
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Agreed.  Sit him out for a series.

It will be interesting to see how Obama tries to play the Osama card during the campaign.

Expect to see him with the new world trade center and a banner with the wording "I killed the MoFo" in the background.

A terrorist which starts a slaughter quoting Locke, Burke and Mill has completely missed the point.
The fact remains that the only person or group to applaud the Norway massacre are random Islamists.

How is it disrespectful to suggest that someone uses birth control?

I thought it was great.  When trolls get trolled, and are upset about it, that's pure internet win.

I and the other objectors interpreted your remark as calling Speesh's mom a whore.

That's how I saw this.  I mean, his mom is no saint, she did raise a son who thinks "whore pills" is an amusing troll, but that's still too harsh.

Grumbler is right.  As spicey has said, he uses that term to get a reaction - it is a troll.  The iron-clad laws of internet allowed Jake to troll him back, and to go nuclear.

C'mon people, "whore pills" is as much as derspiess schtick as kimono tea parties are for Lettuce-san.

Trolls are rarely amusing themselves, that one's elicited amusing reactions in the past but he's overplayed it.

  It didn't sound like a troll the first few times he said it, when I angrily responded to it.
