Why is France's population increasing like that?  And why is it assumed that Germany's population will go into major decline?  You guys aren't planning a new world war are you?  We don't want to have go over there again.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

So's the UK's.  ENTENTE CORDIALE! :w00t:  :bowler: :frog:

QuoteWhy is France's population increasing like that?
Decent birthrate, some immigration.

QuoteAnd why is it assumed that Germany's population will go into major decline?
Low birthrate, less immigration.
Let's bomb Russia!

Are Algerians and Turks being counted as well?

The fact remains that the only person or group to applaud the Norway massacre are random Islamists.

Okay.  I was just curious.  Good for France. :)

 Isn't Yemen literally running out of water with its current population.

Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.

That can't be right.  Yemen has two dinky cities.  Maybe you mean Pakistan?

Pakistan already has more people than Russia.

OK, but Yemen had a population of 24 million in 2010.  Unless Putin managed to kill 120 million journalists while I wasn't watching there's no way Yemen's going to pass them.

Richard Hakluyt

Yemen has a  population growth-rate of 3.1% per annum, so an extrapolation gives them 80m in 2050.

Not happening unless they're given a fuckton of desalinization plants and the infrastructure to transport that water across the country. They'll be hard pressed to support the population they have.

Or maybe Yemenis will be genetically engineered to require less water.  :hmm:

I think that was Viking's point. Simple extrapolations of population growth are not that great when used for lengthy periods of time.
