I have only met two families of homeschooled kids, that latter of which I spent two social occasions with. The children were well-adjusted and actually acted much more mature for their ages, seeking adult conversation and being able to sustain it.

Kids who spend a lot of time with other kids are usually idiots and are immature as long as they are kept in these unnatural social environments (schooling until mid 20's is now becoming the norm).

Now, I assume the "problem" homeschooled kids are usually the ones with disabilities or extremist parents (religious fundamentalists, etc.).

People who even consider homeschooling their children should be shot in the head. I have never met a well adjusted individual who was homeschooled.

Homeschooling isn't necessarily a bad thing.  It all depends on how the homeschooling is done.  They can meet people, and socialise with their peers even if they are homeschooled.  It isn't like the public schools are always the better option, especially with the triad infested ones.

So what you're saying is that this is an issue which can't be judged in completely black and white terms? :o

A guy I've known and worked with for years has his daughter home-chooled by his wife (who happened to be a teacher before the pregnancy, so there's an asterisk right there), but part of their program is that they bury the kid in social activities with peers during down time and on the weekends;  she seems pretty fucking well-adjusted to me.

That's the plan that I am pursuing. In many states, homeschooled kids are allowed to use public school laboratories/facilities for science requirements and are also able to play on local school sports teams such as football and soccer, Tim Tebow being a recent "famous" example.

Not to mention, a claim that children are more likely to be molested at school than at home must be one of the more ignorant ones I've ever heard.

Most cases of child molesting are perpetrated by close family. At least teachers are supposedly subject to a supervision and periodic evaluation.

False. You can be almost 100% certain if your kid is being homeschooled by a molester.
