Anyone have it/try it?  Opinions?

Grey Fox

There's a demo on Steam, try it out.
Colonel Caliga is Awesome.

Darth Wagtaros

Never played any of them. Is V worth the 14 dollars?
PDH!

It's a great series, my second favorite after Civilization.
To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

What's up with the weird name order?
"I've never been quite sure what the point of a eunuch is, if truth be told. It seems to me they're only men with the useful bits cut off."

I tried the demo a couple months ago. I think the city view in V was one of the games best features and they totally fucked it up in 6. I also don't like the battles as much. I didn't bother buying it.
Winner of THE grumbler point.

I only played the first one.  I found the game to be funny as hell.  I liked how I would have an army of hobbits who killed an army of liches who when they died made a pathetic "ugh" sound then just fell over.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

It's not a Lord of the Rings game.

Okay, they were called "Halflings".

George Lucas' Lord of the Rings?
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

I understood.

I was just trying to make a lame joke connecting hobbits/liches with hobbits/nazgul.  :(

Darth Wagtaros

I bought HMMV and it doesn't really strike me as a turn based strategy game.
PDH!

Looks purdy... still I don't see any improvements in gameplay since it was just Heroes with vga 256 colour graphics and one map.
First Maxim - "There are only two amounts, too few and enough."
First Corollary - "You cannot have too many soldiers, only too few supplies."
Second Maxim - "Be willing to exchange a bad idea for a good one."
Second Corollary - "You can only be wrong or agree with me."

A terrorist which starts a slaughter quoting Locke, Burke and Mill has completely missed the point.
The fact remains that the only person or group to applaud the Norway massacre are random Islamists.
