I was at a restaurant at Centreparcs in Port Zeeland, Holland, two years ago and needed to pee.

So I went to the bathroom and I swear to god, I had to stand on tiptoes to reach the base of the urinal...and I'm 5'10. :D

I'm 6'3 and I absolutely HATE all those midget-sized urinals, sinks and so on. Seriously, most of them stand at 3'

Best party of the year ruined and it won't ever be the same again
Why?  I know you Europeans are weak of spirit and lack character, but don't tell me that you'll snivel about the dead forever?
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

I like to sit down for pissing, too. I don't see why I should suffer to stand if I could as well sit down.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

The guy died overnight. Poor bastard had his heart in the right place, though.
Impaled on the steering column?

Because it's the day on which the royals mingle freely with the crowds without having to fear attacks like this.
Until a few years ago government ministers used to travel to work on their bicycles, without any protection.
It's these small things about our society we used to treasure and have now lost.

Heh, good on him. And kudos for not wearing one of those silly helmets.

Bicyclists should be run over by SUVs.

Somehow odd that the other fiercely Republican, Puritanical, Tolerant and Enterprising nation ended up becoming a semi-socialist, secular Monarchy.

Still.  From what I've read, the Dutch Royal family are about as admirable as the Spanish or the Danish, and nowhere near as annoying as the British.  Should be left alone.  Not to mention the fact that only innocent non-royals died.

Western monarchies.
In theory and outside of western Europe I'm a staunch Republican (in the non-Hans sense), but what's so wrong with the Spanish, Dutch and Danish monarchies?  Without the Spanish King I don't think Spain could've made such an easy transition to Democracy; heck, even Marxists were saying "God Save the King" for his role in bringing about democracy.
