Quotegun and grenade attack in the centre of the Belgian city of Liege has killed at least two people and wounded about 10, Belgian media say.

They say several men threw grenades and fired on a crowd at a bus stop.

Some reports say one of the attackers is among the dead. Local media said another had been seized by police but gunfire was continuing.

The area has been sealed off. There is no word on who carried out the attack.

Apparently not a terrorist attack, but an escape attempt from the courthouse by 3 to 4 people. Why one of them started lobbing grenades at people waiting for a bus is not clear.

I have to say the grenade angle is very weird.  Why would they have grenades if they were not a terrorist or paramilitary group of some sort?

And how did they get grenades escaping from a courthouse?  Unless Belgian courts expect significantly fiercer inmates than in the UK.

It's a really weird (and obviously sad) attack.
