Never heard of Kimper, but it's apparently a small town in Pike County.  It's hard to get more redneck in Kentucky than Pike County.  :Canuck:

I disagree. You achieve greatness by winning, consistently and with as wide a marging as possible.

They beat a group of clumsy 12 year olds who probably didn't know one end of the court from another at basketball, whoop-de-doo.

Yi is right. Beating LeBron James in a close match of 1 on 1 is much more impressive than skunking your little sister a hundred times.

Not for Siege.  Remember, he hasn't won yet, so he'll settle for anything.

I agree that, for men who are secure in our masculinity (and maybe some others, but I wouldn't know about them), winning is only impressive if winning was in doubt.

Nobody gonna comment on these people with socialist mentallity that don't the great to enjoy their greatness?

You don't achieve greatness by beating the shit out of a cripple, you achieve it by beating an equal or greater opponent.

(Not to say the team in question was unfair.  It sounds like they did everything they could.)

Yeah, coaching against a much weaker opponent is one of the hardest things to do as a coach.  You need to lay off without turning the experience negative for everyone.

When faced with this situation - say up 30 or so, on offense I put in a five pass rule before a shot so the kids treat it as a practice scrimmage where they are forced to run the offence and no fast breaks are allowed. On defence no press, no double teams and no denials on the entry pass - which basically just turns the defensive end into a box out drill.

The other team might still get blown out simply because they cant shoot or cant take the ball to the basket very well but at least they get a sense of having played in the game and our kids get some practice running the offense and rebounding.

There is certainly no joy in "winning" such games.  I would much rather play against someone better than us.  The chance of improving is greater and winning such a game can be very gratifying.
