Other: ALL artisans (mechanics, plumbers, carpenters, fixers, etc) are dishonest, but you have to bear with them.

There is a car repair place a few hundred yards from my house. The overwhelming majority of their business is from the local area, an area where people actually know and talk to each other. We trust them implicitly, our repair and maintenance bills are half what they were down south. If they ever stopped being reliable word would spread quickly, as it is they are always busy and make a decent living.......which is as it should be.

Yep, this is the way to go.  Find a mechanic your neighbours and friends know.

There's a local mechanic place that I've used who is pretty good. Not as "local" as RH's, but still honest.

But is he an "Auto-Mechanic" or a regular manual one?

Grab bag.  A lot of mechanically-inclined people gravitate to it because it seems like easy money, but there are some who seem to take the job seriously.

Auto-Mechanics sound like something you would read about in a 60s or 70s sci-fi book.
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

Mixed back.. even the good one seems to make "mistakes"
