Ugh. 408 manpower. Prepare to be bled white.

Isn't that good?

I mean, that's 40 divisions' worth of infantry right there. I think my manpower is around +0.8 per day.

Sept 1st, 1939 - WW2 kicks off, Euro version. Time to roll the dice. As soon as daylight breaks, 48 divisions will attack the Freiburg area. 24 divisions under Field Marshal Georges (skill3, Defensive doctrine) from Strasbourg, 24 divisions under Field Marshal Garchéry (skill3, Commando doctrine) from Mulhouse. I turned on auto-promote leaders, and they decided to put a freaking commando leader as my 2nd Field Marshal.  :glare: Still, can't be helped.

Oh, and this is Hoi2 Habs, with doomsday+armageddon installed and all the patches.

Sept 1 1939 - a review of Allied forces.

116 infantry, 4 cavalry, 1 light armored, 4 medium armored, 9 mountaineers and 4 HQ units.  :punk: I'm gonna rock Hitler's world. Notice the Brits' terrible army state. I guess they've been building ships or something, what the hell.

Prepare to get ground down. Only thing helping you is the AI builds a kajillion useless units and leaves no manpower for replacements.

The AI English will be useless. You'll get some air support.

I've played til january 1940, and I assure you that things are good :frog:

A few things helped. Even though I'm almost all infantry, I went with the kraut's land doctrine tree, bumping my org up and up. By the outbreak of war, I had stolen blueprints and researched all the way to Elastic Defense, which is the 1940 doctrine iirc. Also, I took a bunch of risks to envelop and destroy german divisions. With 4 HQs and attacking always from 2 or more directions, I was able to attack all through winter, even though yes, my manpower is way down. Plus I don't think puppets give manpower, so future army building will take time.

Late sept 1939 - The Poles are retreating across the board. Warsaw is still holding out, and that fight would go on for a week. Apparently 4 divisions in an urban terrain will bleed you. Good to know, but too bad for Poland :(

Oct 12th 1939 - Despite my earlier intentions of racing across southern Germany to rescue a fragment of Poland, Germany annexes them only to partition it with the USSR. I got bogged down in Austria, and the Stukas were tearing through my thinned out forces. I had to halt at Salzbourg and reorganize. Sorry Poland.

Oct 24th 1939 - I'm kicking German ass all over the place, but it's costing me mad supplies and manpower. Almost all of my armies are on offensive supply mode. All of the Rhur is French, and I managed to pocket an unknown number of German divisions in the Tyrol and Hamburg regions. My Dresden army is taking a beating but holding so far. Crossing the river into Rostock in the north was hell. I sent the Moroccan and Senegalese divisions first, wave after wave  I have to say, thank god for the Canucks running interdiction to cover my advance. My puny airforce is of no help at all, getting mauled each time they leave the airstrip. Brits are busy bombing IC all over the place, German supply problems are starting to show.

Nov 1st 1939 - Pocketing Innsbruck. Despite the frozen ground, mountainous terrain, I decide to attack as fast as I can. Out of supply armies lose org and strength the more you wait, but I decided to annex Germany before Belgium and Holland join the Allies. That way I can declare war on them.  9 nazi divisions go the way of the dinosaurs. By pocketing and destroying as many germans as I can as fast as I can, I'm also killing their best leaders. It will show in future combats, when the AI had to resort to Old Guard generals, weakly skilled ones or even towards the end, no leaders at all.

Nov 1st 1939 - Colson will move to Bremen immediately, while Garchéry is to secure Leipzig. German divisions in Erfurt, Schweinfurt and Whilelmshlafen are to be destroyed. I'm taking the risk of cutting my Northern Group off supply, but it's not that risky. Worse come to worse I can resupply by sea, and a bunch of German divisions are still making their way west from Poland.
