Facial nerve damage?

About a month ago, during my holidays, I managed to faint and hit the pavement with a side of my face. It left me with a blue eye (which is now almost entirely gone) but no lasting damage.

However, about a week or so I started to feel these weird twitches (which are not visible, from what I can gather) in my left cheek, cheekbone and jaw (this is the side I hit the pavement with) and I feel that side of my face to feel somewhat "tight". However, it is not as pronounced for me to be certain that there is something definitely happening there.

Could I have damaged my facial nerve perhaps? I am not sure if these symptoms are not excerbated by the fact that I focus/think about them a lot, which may cause my face muscles to contract as a result. Knowing I'm a hypochondriac, I decided to ask Languish for a reasoned medical opinion. :uffda:

You didn't faint. You were knocked unconscious and shot up with botox by a crazed plastic surgeon.
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Marty with an attention whore thread?  Must be Friday.

The constant poking of dicks on the inside of your cheek could well be the source of your discomfort.

No shit.  Lay off the corn dogs, Marty.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

Did you go to a doctor? Fainting isn't normal in and of itself and should be of immediate concern.

There are lots of forms of benign fasciculation that can cause twitching or tightness occasionally, if it is persistently happening over several days that could be a concern, though.

I bet he saw a Macbook with a pinker cover than his.

It is probably just a benign fasciculation, like you get in the eye when you need sleep. I had one over half of my face when I worked out very, very hard that lasted for weeks. I was worried I'd had a stroke, so of course I didn't see the doctor...

Head trauma can cause tics, so it's definitely worth getting checked out. Brain MRIs are fun, you see inside your head!

Just imagine what kind of thread this would be if he fed corn dogs to his corn hole.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

I think Marty would be disappointed in what they find in there.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Sometimes I have to wonder at your lack of ability to get a joke.
