The weather this weekend was the coldest I can remember - wind chill at -40 on Sunday. At that temp, C and F are the same.

there are floods at two seperate subway stations because of the cold

Seriously, I don't mind high temps until they hit about 100 F.  I can learn to tolerate 110F, I think, and if not there's always air conditioning. :)

Well do you want months and months of 100F+ every year or do you want a few days of shit winter every once in a while?

One sense in which the desert beats the hell out of the rest of the South, however, is that at least it gets cold at night.

What is the normal temp?  Does this sort of super-freezing thing happen very often?

It is quite rare. The average for mid-February range from a high of 0 C to a low of -6 C.

In Toronto? Not really, it's has weather like New York city.

In Montreal? Business as Usual.

Huh.  If you are going to stay inside all the time relying on artificial temperature control why does it matter whether it is AC or the heater?

That's just a bad week in Texas.  No biggie at all...I mean presuming no snow.

Because if it has to be one extreme or the other when I go outside, I much prefer the heat?  I hate being cold.

I agree with Cal. Summers in Palm Springs were better than winters in Mass

I really regret not talking to that recruiter who called me about a job in Scottsdale a few months ago. :weep:

Call the cunt up.

We are not comparing winters in Mass with Summers in Palm Springs.  We are comparing a far wimpier winter in Kentucky with a desert craphole with little to redeem it.

Yeah, the only thing worse than 85 degrees and 85% humidity at 2 in the afternoon is when it's 2 in the morning.

Well does Kentucky have anything to redeem it? :hmm:

No shit.  Hate getting to the office at 7:30 in the morning already covered in sweat.  That sucks.

Um...er....well you got me there.

Cal seems to like it though.  Maybe it has character.
