Round 2 is on its way, buddy.  Radar shows a line forming from Peoria IL to Indianapolis. Batten down the hatches.

We could use some rain.  The ground is parched.  100+ temperatures.  I have to help my idiot brother move his shit.  Bleh.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

You are telling me.  Usually its extremely humid here.  So humid that you would become wet going outside even if you weren't sweating.  Hasn't been the case lately.   Year's been strange.  Very mild winter.  Almost no snow.  This is Arkansas weather.

Yep, strange here, but in different ways; very dry winter on top of very dry previous year, then wettest 2nd quarter since records began.

What next ?  :hmm:

I just heard from one of my cousins there has been a forest fire up in Mark Twain state park.  That's really weird.  We don't normally get those.  I'm unnerved by changes in Climate.  Hans telling me this isn't happening isn't really reassuring.

It was over 100 here in NC the past 2 days, and will be again tomorrow.  Then we get a bit of a break--the highs Monday and Tuesday will be in the upper 90's.

MadBurgerMaker

Today was another nice day.  Low 90s, breezy, some showers (that I didn't see but everything was wet when I came home from lunch + a drive).  Tomorrow (today, I guess, given the time), it's only supposed to be in the mid 80s with thunderstorms all over the place.

State of emergency declared in MD.  VA, DC and MD storm damage from Friday's front is greater than Hurricane Irene's.  Still have over 312K without power, some people are going to wait until late in the week.
And at least the utilities had a ramp up for that; this is a holiday weekend--quite a few bucket truck boys are on vacation.  Waiting for out-of-state crews to arrive.

On the ironical side, if I were still employed, I'd probably just be getting home from Emergency Ops duty.

We just got hit again. If it holds up, it's heading for W. Virginia and the coast.
