Mid 60s here, the locals are suffering.  I saw a girl in a down coat and short shorts today - it is hard to be stylish and warm.
I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

Such a damn treat. And they stopped in tunnels so I couldn't use WiFi!

First snow for us up here.

And will likely freeze up overnight for a pleasant morning commute.  <_<

5 cm of snow blocking the whole country sounds awfully French.  :P

Yesterday it was still cold but with my car in the sun it loosened up the ice enough for me to chip the worst of it off the roof and other areas. Didn't want that stuff coming loose and hitting cars behind me. Then it warmed up today, helped melt a lot of the ice. Going to get some heavy rain tomorrow.

Unusual for Florida in the winter, we had a full day of heavy showers; just in time for the Pro-Bowl (in Orlando this year).  Fortunately nobody cares; the Weather Channel had to explain what the Pro-Bowl was before talking about the weather in Florida.
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

Snows starting. Should be about half a foot. Everyone was sent home early... well everyone except accounting lol

It's so cold in Michigan that Amtrak has suspended project work, and instead has crews out making sure the switch machines don't freeze.  Switch machines are these things:

I was surprised by this; since they're massive, rugged and have no problem taking off your foot.
