I consider March Madness to start with the conference tourneys, so it's high time for a thread.

Last night's Cleveland State - Butler game was one of the best games I've seen all year.  Never thought I'd be into the Horizon League championship that much.

As for the Big East, current Bracketology has them placing 3 teams as 1 seeds.  It would be cool, but I doubt it will happen.  And wtf is up with Cincinnati and Georgetown both getting knocked out yesterday??  Either team is a long shot to make the NIT now IMO.

Oh, and we need to do a Languish bracket again this year :)

I have recently been given hope by Texas' dominating performance against Kansas in the first half of their game the other day.  Their second half collapse has been noted of course.

Maybe...maybe if all the pieces come together...

Arizona is going to play ASU in teh first round of the Pac-10 tournament, and CW is that they need to win that game, at least, to get into the dance.

ASU has beaten Arizona 4 times straight. Not sure if that means Arizona is due or what.

There are also lots of rumors swirling about Wildcat nation that Pitino is coming...

I look forward to Syracuse choking in the first round yet again.

I'm disappointed in how the Hoya season turned out but I'm not all that surprised.  Too many weaknesses: can't rebound, no go-to guy, no low post presence, thin bench, Princeton offense is too slow and predictable.

They had a great start, but they totally fell off once WVU beat them.  I'm guessing their subsequent opponents studied the WVU game film pretty closely.

It's not rocket science.  Stick with your man, don't overplay, follow the cuts.

There's that, but there's also strategy involved.  Double-team this guy, which defenses/offenses to run, focus on inside or outside game, etc.  Coaches don't just coach the fundamentals.

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Providence won. :)

I wish WVU was playing Providence tonight instead of ND.  WVU always seems to beat da Friars.  But no, they gotta face that oafish Irishman tonight :(

Horizon League basketball is great. Especially when Butler gets humbled.

A wonderful time of year!

I am flying down to Raleigh for ACC Tourney weekend. The alcohol begins to flow around 11am and ends sometime Sunday.

Go Wolfpack! Go Syracuse (in the Big East)

Conference tourneys are fun.  I was lucky enough to be in NYC on business for the 2007 Big East tournament.  Went to the Atlantic 10 tournament when it was in Cincy a while back.

The atmosphere for NCAA tournament games is flat-out insane, though :woot:

Mike Singletary set a new Big 12 record with 43 points in a tournament game last night.
