20 minutes for Seven Cities of Gold to make a game disk.

Especially since it would sometimes error out at the end of the process, which as you mentioned took 20 minutes. :bleeding:

It was worth it just to get next to the Inca chief, and pop his punk ass.

Did you ever find one of the Cities of Gold?  I thought I was BADASS the first time I did.  In fact, I remember the moment clearly:  I found the City of Gold while my brother was watching Belle and Sebastian on Nickelodeon at an annoyingly loud volume one Saturday morning, and my mother was cooking scrapple and eggs in the kitchen.

Hated that game. Was very disappointed in Heart of Africa.

I thought Heart was needlessly complex. And I'm the guy that played SSI wargames.

I found the tomb like 2 or 3 times.  The first time I found it was an epic journey across the heart of Darkest Africa, at the end of which I found the magnificent tomb of the pharaoh deep in the jungles of Mozambique.

The second time, I walked out of Cairo to the cheap giveaway cache right to the north, and the tomb happened to be there.

Of course, this location was far more realistic than the first one. :)

I was thinking the same thing.

Anyone have a good C64 emulator?  The last time I had one installed (prolly 5 years ago), I wasn't able to get Heart of Africa to run at all, and Seven Cities of Gold did run but there was something fucked up about it and I don't think I was able to leave the port at the beginning. :(

Last time I did emulation stuff, and that was around '99-'01, VICE was the shiznit for c64 emulation.

Tamas

Don't do it.

You will be amazed by how shitty these games -by our present standards- are.

Caliga

Disagree.  Ozark Softscape games are TIMELESS CLASSICS.  R.I.P, Danielle/Dan Bunten. :(

Tamas is still bitter that nobody wants to play his High Frontier game.
