So...does it add anything or is it just the sims with medieval skinning?
There are quests. Is that different?
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

I am sure the big question for Languishites are:  Will the game have arranged child-brides and Prima Nocta?

The videos explain the game play. It is much more directed, apparently.

Sounds like The Guild then.

Sounds like The Guild then.

I played that one.  My family line consisted entirely of one man, who became the ruler of the town, monopolized all it's industries, had eight wives, and lived past 160.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Yeah, it does. Pretty cool, considering the Guild's main problem as far as I was concerned was stability/UI/engine and that's one part Sims does well.

You got farther than I did.

The commercials with Turk from scrubs are annoying. I'm halfway expecting Zach Braff to appear with an Appletini.

I thought that was what Languish was for?

Grinning_Colossus

Most people use The Sims as interactive snuff films and pornography. Snuff films might be tough in a forum full of lawyers, and pornography... ehh.

I was really put off when my Sim locked himself in his house and wouldn't come out.  He just sat around and cried.   :(

I long ago lost my talent for that sort of thing in the Tri-Fora.
