The remake of Straw Dogs makes me want to kick Rod Lurie in the groin, pull him by the hair, and anally rape him at gunpoint. Just like he has done to Sam Peckinpah. Oh boy, talk about shitting on a classic, and a total waste of James Marsden. :bleeding:

I am not opposed per se to remake a hardcore classic closer to a slasher movie, like Craven did to Bergman's The Virgin Spring with The Last House on the Left, but at least Craven didn't miss the core of the plot of Bergman's movie. Here Lurie turned a classic in deconstruction of the revenge movie and his take that on masculinity, into a roaring A-B-C pile of Platinum Dunes-type goo.

Skip this one, stick with Dustin Hoffman walking in the pub with his pants off and Susan George being an absolutely magnificent cock tease.

Saw Armadillo, the documentary about Danish soldiers in Afghanistan. Quite good.

I had no idea it was released in the exact same month as both Dirty Harry and A Clockwork Orange.

David Warner always gave me the heebie-jebbies as a kid.  Scared the fucking piss out of me in Time After Time.

We`re in a bit of a TV black hole at the minute. A lot of series have finished whilst the new bunch won`t start till October. Gah.

Saw the season premiere of How I Met Your Mother. It was pretty good. Then tried out that new Sarah Michelle Geller show for about 10 minutes. Later, saw the premiere of Two Broke Girls. It was really stupid. Didn't House come on Mondays last year?  :hmm:

Wasn't the HIMYM premiere two episodes in a row? Also, was the Two Broke Girls one so bad? I wanted to give it a try after reading some stuff about it.

House will begin in October, but why people keep watching it is a mistery to me, I was already bored about it after two seasons. They have brought Urkel for the new season, it'll be interesting to see how it develops.

It seems that this week is the "Back to school" for TV series. Downton Abbey had its first episode of their 2nd season already, all the sitcoms I follow (except for 30 Rock) come back these days, most of them with two back to back episodes as season premieres. Definitely the summer is over.
