Might just be that crime shows are so ubiquitous. Probably the biggest genre on TV? Followed by medical dramas?

Yeah maybe - I was also thinking that soaps and sitcoms tend to have a core repeating cast rather than "guest star" roles. But you're right and especially on UK TV they often run for a very long time compared with other dramas.

In entirely unrelated news - I was delighted to see David Suchet's Poirot land on Netflix
Let's bomb Russia!

The reason is more likely to be that the  « anthology » format is much better suited to guest starring, unlike soap operas or serialised shows.

True, see also e.g. shows like Columbo and its eclectic list of guest stars.

Precisely.

Columbo has quite the list.

Worst and best series for that has to be the Love Boat, the cemetary of stars. :D

knight of the seven kingdoms, so far so good. Kid actor might get annoying, but we'll see. Also, Duncan the tall doesn't seem tall enough. Guess there aren't many giant actors who are good :D
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

The actor is 6'5"

He is not Duncan the tallest.  But he does qualify as the tall

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

On the third episode of Interior Chinatown.  Very fun so far, nice slow build.

28 Years Later: the Bone Temple (2026)

One should have seen the previous film, because it picks up just after and follows its themes.

Without too many spoilers, the evolution of the Jimmy (Saville) chavs is not surprising, with one exception. Bit slow moving in the beginning, but it also accounts for questions left in the first movie.
Samson may be walking on the foot steps of Bub, will it be enough? Less people around but maybe better, all in all.
Speaking of which, the Doctor, who is central to this movie.
Can't say much without spoiling, but let's say the good doctor knows his classics. :P He also may have the clue. Will it be enough?

The end of a cycle, the beginning of a new one. The ending's tone might disappoint some, but let's say the movie has to be seen, at least for the end. Unless, all zombie infected fare gives you an allergy and or makes you go feral.

Oh and don't worry, there is still gore, and the imagery follows it to a tee (an inverted one?).

I have watched the others, and started watching this one, but really couldn't get past the beginning part where the father, for some unknown reason, takes a terrible unnecessary risk.

Not the best scene, but it leads to a sub-plot of some importance involving the Jimmy Saville chavs. Could have been quicker, admittedly.

Also, the ™ Ultimate Brexit Little England ™ of the previous movie is no longer mentioned.

Ok, I will soldier on and watch to the end  :)
