Actual new news and progress?
Or the vague rumours that have been around for years with the rights transferring et al?

There was a video about it specifically going to occur.

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

Here it is.

It's a series order, so unless something goes really wrong before they begin production, looks like it's happening.

S2 of A Man on the Inside on Netflix. It's not Michael Schur's best show (The Good Place, Parks & Recreation, Brooklyn 99, The Office ...) but very sweet an charming. 7-7.5/10. Perfect for a gray November Sunday. :P

Though with Only Murders in the Building it's another season of a show I watch this year that has an asshole billionaire (obsessed with longevity) as part of its cast. :hmm: But this time the backdrop is an arts college that's struggling for funding.

I've seen this! :)

Anxiously and cautiously awaiting for this. It's from the original creators.  It should be good, hopefully.

Wondering if it will again be shot in CC's backyard :P

I was looking to see if I can walk on set, but I can't find info on where it will be shot

It's way too early, there's not even a production date yet. Once prep gears up I suppose some info will filter out.

If they shot in Vancouver, I hope you can make it!

I watched the first episode of season 5 of Stranger Things. The formula is pretty tired at this point. Also was the acting always this terrible? All the "kids" are so bad. The actress playing Nancy Wheeler has an obvious eating disorder. She looks 50 years old at 30.

All in all pretty sad. Season 1 was awesome, should have stopped there.

HVC

I liked the first season. Stopped watching the show halfway through the second.
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

First season was great. After that it's been diminishing returns but I find it's still watchable - in part because it's quite gruesome for a kid's show, and I like the earnestness of it all.

Acting was always quite mediocre - good child actors don't grow on trees. That's why they always surrounded the kids with a bunch of interesting adult actors.

HVC

Have they regressed or something? I mean they werent the greatest as kids but surely they got better as time went on?

They are also being asked to perform more dramatic material, given the age of their characters, for which they are not experienced enough.

It's really really hard to find teenager-ish actors that can handle dramatic material comfortably. Heck, in my experience (I spent a few years doing some teaching at a drama school) there's a non-sweet spot where young actors first get formal acting training, get given all the tools of the trade, and it kinda overwhelms them and makes them worse until they become more assured and comfortable with them.
