Not as good as The Godfather either, but why the comparison?  :hmm:

Spike Lee, New York, just a few years apart.

To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

Brokedown Palace. American chicks try to smuggle drugs out of Thailand, and the Thai won't have it. More importantly, it's a young Claire Danes vs youngish Kate Beckinsale hot-off. I'm team Claire.
Women want me. Men want to be with me.

Season 2 of The Witcher is a marked improvement over season 1. A welcome surprise.

Finished The Great Season Two. Sooo good. I rarely laugh out loud, but this show has some really funny bits.
Civis Romanus Sum<br /><br />"My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we'll change the world." Jack Layton 1950-2011

Primeval. American reporters go to Africa and encounter killer croc, civil war. Not essential cinema, but better than I feared.

I was coming here to post the opposite  :D  I am only three episodes in and the only thing that keeps me going is that by the end of season 1 I really enjoyed it.  Mind you only three episodes into season 1 I was also ready to stop watching, but others convinced me otherwise.

Started on The Profession of Arms, Italian movie from 2001 about part of the Italian Wars. I had to stop after a few minutes because of the poor sound. I've always found it weird that Italians, who in some way are interested in movies, just don't give a shit about the technical quality of them. People shouting outdoors sounds reasonable here, but every time people are talking indoors or in a tent everyone sounds like a guy speaking closely into a mic in a studio, even from across the room. I'm sorry, that's not good enough. If the creators don't care about the movie then it's very hard for me to do so.

I stopped 3 episodes in. Convince me to pick it up again?

Well, Italians stopped post-sync'ing mostly by the '90s. In the case of international casts not speaking the same language on the set, it held out longer it seems.
I actually liked the move though a second viewing made the sound issues (post-synchronisation) you noticed even more blatant and grating to the ears.

Consider yourself lucky, be it Fellini or spaghetti westerns in the 60' or '70s that was the rule, even for Westerns with US actors such as Clint Easwood or Eli Wallach take a leave a couple exceptions such as Una Giornata particulare.

I did like that the Germans spoke German, though I didn't see any close enough shots to say if the actors did. :)

Books of Blood. Some loosely connected tales of horror. It's fine, but then I've always liked collection movies like Two-Fisted Tales etc.

I saw Two-Fisted Tails, but that was probably a different film in a different genre.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011
