DS9 non-spoiler update. Iggy Pop as a Dominion vorta, WTF

Speaking of vorta, few people play slimy characters as well as Jeffrey Combs.

That was a Ferengi episode, wasn't it?

Indeed. :P
He plays in Enterprise, too, an Andorian, if you haven't watched the series.  The episodes he's in are the greatest of the series.

One of my fav episodes.
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

And combs plays 3 characters on ds9, two reoccurring

I'm hoping they'll put Brunt face to face with Weyoun at some point

I watched some episodes from Enterprise, didn't like it much.

Enterprise gets better. Not on par with ds9 or tng, but better then the new treks in my opinion.

I had no idea iggy pop was in DS9.
Looking it up I do recognise the character and remember thinking he was a bit off.

Avatar sucked.  You knew going in that the producer and director didn't give a shit about the plot ("Unobtanium"? That's about as lazy a piece of writing as you will ever see), the plot was simply "Pocahontas with Aliens," the acting was wooden, and, while the critter CGI was great and sometimes even breathtaking, the character CGI didn't for one second let you forget that it was just CGI.

The Abyss had  some great visual moments and the cast was mostly excellent (even with Cameron's direction), but the story was so formulaic you could see every "plot twist" coming from a mile away.

Cameron can create moments, but it seems that he no longer can create movies.
I haven't seen it, because, like you say, it looks like the plot was an afterthought done up by some drunken woke college brats.
PDH!

Ben Sisko has visions of the 1950s. It was nice to see everybody in the main cast without makeup.

All the writer characters map to 1950s sci-fi writers, IIRC. Originally Ira Steven Behr wanted this to be how the show ends, but apparently declaring all of Star Trek but a dream was apparently not welcomed.

In the Pale Moonlight - Sisko tries
to convince the Romulans that Irak has WMDs the Dominion plans on attacking them
.  Might be one of the darkest episodes I've seen so far, and might be my favorite of the show up until now. Garak is great.

Been awhile since I saw it (ai doing a slow watch-through of DS9 right now though) and yes it might be the series best.

it is great. only down side, much like the 1950's episode, is Brook's "enthusiastic" acting gets highlighted.

Yeah, Brooks is to me the weakest link in the main cast - everytime the script asks too much from him he sounds ridiculously over the top. But I thought he was as good as he could be in this one.
