Fort Boyard, yeah - that was a format. We do borrow formats from France (and the Netherlands, like everybody else).

Oh, maybe. I didn't know that was the same show.

I think FB is a weird case since the show use the French crew and obviously was set in the fort. Format going on adaptation maybe

no, but doing so specifically in a northern smallish community, with originally out of town detectives (coming from the big city, TO for Cardinal, MTL for La Faille) was new to Cardinal.

Two thirds of those look like the same movie, with a different cast and one or two minor plot differences.

One of those disaster shoot-em-ups might be good, but the chances that even four of ten of them are good is nil.  Though F9 looks like a pretty good spoof of the fast and Furious movies.
