Because it isn't good.

I feel like the second season has improved on a lot, although the occasional flashes of !MAGIC! aren't necessarily helping.

My feeling, exactly.

Cool premise, neat movie, could've shaved a good 20 minutes off of it.

Well, now you don't like Hannibal either.  Your taste is at least as suspect as mine. :P

I liked Hannibal, but not impressed with where it has been going this season.

Inception just didn't keep my attention.

The Last Stand.
Totally goofy B action movie, but still liked it.
A C+ by my scale not Ide's.

Ideologue

THERE IS NO OTHER SCALE.

I gave it a B

It was no. 34 of 2013.  Not bad.  Escape Plan was better.

Haven't seen Escape Plan, only watching this as it is on Netflix, and I don't read your reviews so didn't see what you gave it :D

QuoteLast year was the year Hollywood's blockbuster model (i.e.: more money on fewer films that are mostly adaptations) was supposedly defeated by the prodigious failures of The Lone Ranger, After Earth, R.I.P.D., and Enders Game. Funny, then, that the thirteen films grossing more than $200 million in the U.S. and Canada in 2013 were:

1. A sequel based on a comic book
2. A sequel based on a YA book
3. A sequel based on a cartoon
4. A sequel based on a comic book
5. A sequel based on a cartoon
6. An original animated movie!
7. An original non-animated movie!
8. A sequel of a sequel of a sequel of two other sequels
9. A prequel based on a book
10. A sequel based on a re-relaunch of a TV show
11. A sequel based on a comic book
12. A movie based on a book
13. A sequel based on a book

In case you couldn't guess each film by the exhaustively elaborate descriptions I've supplied above, here's the same list with titles:

These are not movies that audiences are being conscripted to watch. These are the movies they are choosing to watch. If you don't like Hollywood's sequel machine, don't blame Hollywood: Blame the butts in the movie-theater chairs. They have the vote that matters.

Of that list, Frozen was the most entertaining. One of the chicks needed to piss in Olaf's mouth though to give it an A+

dude, inception is really overrated. how many times have you seen it? i think it suffers from the same problem as the rest of nolan's flicks. it's neat the first time around but just falls flat on later viewings years down the road. i think it's because a lot of them rely too much on gimmicks

Admiral Yi

That's not a gimmick; that's "high concept."
