I feel the need to warn you it's mostly a talkly-cerebral, Jung-Freud piece.

Good, since I'm a Jungian fan, and think Freud did more coke than Tim Raines.

But it is a Cronenberg film, so how much talk can there be?

Wait, Cronenberg?  Sold.

I mean, I watched Existenz, for Christ's sake.
Kinemalogue

X-men First Class. Very good, possibly the best of the franchise.
To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

The current doctor who serial is proving to be disappointing.

Watched Cimino's mostly forgotten ode to film noir and Sirkian melodrama - "Desperate Hours" last night. Holds up well, and the photography in the more actiony sequences is fricking stunning. The big issue if there is one as always with Cimino, is that he doesn't cut. It's actually very very much a film noir potboiler script done with amazing locations rather than cheap sets and shadows.

It's worth watching for the over the top scenery munching of Lindsay Crouse who channels Barbara Stanwyck at her most ballsy playing the FBI agent in charge of the manhunt for Rourke's obvious but well done turn as Bogart. lots of too much in this flick clutters it somewhat, but definitely worth a re-visit.

Cedar Rapids. It was alright, could have been better. I think they were a little too low key, didn't really fully commit to it being a comedy.

Kleves

Andy Whitfield, the guy that played Spartacus on the Showtime series, died of non-Hodgkin Lymphoma today.  :(
My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

Women want me. Men want to be with me.

LaCroix

on the bright side, a certain shotgun blast to the head brought about much rejoice and celebration :)

Viking

Watched Khal Drogo as Conan. My advice, get it on DVD.
First Maxim - "There are only two amounts, too few and enough."
First Corollary - "You cannot have too many soldiers, only too few supplies."
Second Maxim - "Be willing to exchange a bad idea for a good one."
Second Corollary - "You can only be wrong or agree with me."

A terrorist which starts a slaughter quoting Locke, Burke and Mill has completely missed the point.
The fact remains that the only person or group to applaud the Norway massacre are random Islamists.

From what I heard the actor is a great Conan, but the story and action scenes suck.

It's an extremely disheartening story. He was diagnosed in March 2010, started crash treatment right away and in May 2010 he was declared cancer-free. Then in September 2010 it was found that the cancer had recurred and now one year later he's gone.  :(

Syt
