Watched Looking last night and I guess I fall into the camp of gays in SF whose lives are represented by that show.

I did laugh when I came across people online complaining about how they called a character "portly" and made fun of someone with a lazy eye.
"I've never been quite sure what the point of a eunuch is, if truth be told. It seems to me they're only men with the useful bits cut off."
I drank because I wanted to drown my sorrows, but now the damned things have learned to swim.

The Blacklist had a weak episode, except for the ending.
I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

If Microsoft Excel decided to stop working overnight, the world would practically end.

Berkut

True Detectives is good, and so far Helix looks pretty good as well.

The chick in TD with the tits. Jesus H. Fucking Christ.
"If you think this has a happy ending, then you haven't been paying attention."

Getting into Banshee. Not expecting much I watched the first episode, it was actually quite good.
First Maxim - "There are only two amounts, too few and enough."
First Corollary - "You cannot have too many soldiers, only too few supplies."
Second Maxim - "Be willing to exchange a bad idea for a good one."
Second Corollary - "You can only be wrong or agree with me."

A terrorist which starts a slaughter quoting Locke, Burke and Mill has completely missed the point.
The fact remains that the only person or group to applaud the Norway massacre are random Islamists.

That entire package is enough to make a believer out of me.

Hunger Games, Catching Fire- I liked it. Spoilers. Nice they didn't just go down the more of the same route (not that it was their choice given it is a book adaptation). It felt a bit rushed and confused towards setting up the third film at the end however. I was left a little confused about quite what went wrong with the plan, guessed the scientist guy had betrayed them. The poison fog was also dumb

Turns out becoming drug lords aren't easy. Season 5 of Archer looks good so far.

Lone Survivor, real, brutal, extremely well done. Made me cry of sadness, anger and pride.
I can only imagine what that movie can do to someone that has seen real combat and is still dealing with it.

I was wondering why this didn't look right on my tablet and it was because you hadn't used actual spoiler tags. :D
The fog and the confusion both stem from the books.
Savonarola

Anna Boleyn (1920)

This is the second Ernst Lubitsch film to make it to the United States (Sumurun or One Arabian Night) had been the first.  Here, inexplicably, it was released under the title "Deception."  I'm sure I don't need to tell anyone on this forum the plot of the film; it covers Anne's life from her appointment as Catherine's lady-in-waiting, to her final, bitter end.

The film has a cast of thousands and elaborate sets; however the actress portraying Anne (Henny Porten) looks like she's about to burst into tears in every single scene.  She's portrayed as spineless and vacillating in the first half of the film and insanely jealous in the second.  Lubitsch gets a better performance out of Emil Janning as Henry VIII and Aud Egede-Nissen as Jane Seymour.  His frequent leer, and her knowing glances are obviously much more in Lubitsch's comfort zone.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

Watched the first two episodes of Sherlock. B+ so far.

"there's a long tradition of insulting people we disagree with here, and I'll be damned if I listen to your entreaties otherwise."-OVB

"Obviously not a Berkut-commanded armored column.  They're not all brewing."- CdM

"We've reached one of our phase lines after the firefight and it smells bad—meaning it's a little bit suspicious... Could be an amb—".

Just acquired the first two episodes.  I'm looking forward to giving it a shot.  I've heard almost entirely positive things so far.

Also, I'll have to agree the actress is quite attractive.

I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011
