Ide, come on, after all these years you're still logging in as Korea?

Hannah and Her Sisters.  Man it's been a long time since I've seen a Woody Allen movie.

Some critics have said this is his best movie.  I wasn't really knocked out but there parts that were quite good, particularly the scenes when the sisters (Mia Farrow, Barbara Hershey, and Ellen Burstyn) are yelling at each other.  Took me a while to get used to Ellen Burstyn as a spaz.

IIRC this movie was made right before Woody dumped Mia for her adoptive Korean daughter.  It's weird in that one of the main themes of the movie is Mia's husband cheating on her and everyone telling her she sucks because she has no emotional needs.

Nope.

Does remind me I owe her $37, though.

Anyway, I'm genuinely glad others seemed to appreciate Pacific Rim more than I did.  I don't fully understand why--and I know Kleves is a big kaiju guy from way back, so it's not just me expecting Godzilla or Gamera and getting monsters of sub-Gappa quality--but it's not a bad thing that others enjoyed it.  If for no other reason, I'd still very much like to see similar efforts in the future.  Maybe not a Pacific Rim 2, necessarily, but how about, say, Peter Jackson's Gamera. :P

I love Del Toro, but have no interest in this film. What you said Ide is what I was feeling from trailers.

He already did King Kong, so I wouldn't be looking forward to that.

I refuse to see any movie I have labeled as "Timmay whacking porn".

So anything with car chases or explosions or aliens is automatically bad?
While I don't dislike car chases I don't think I'm especially a fan of them.
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

I should have known that it wasn't you, getting a point across clearly in only a couple of lines is just not your style. :ponder:

So... uh... you got my money?
I want my mother fucking points!

Ted.

Mark Wahlberg's best friend is a pot smoking, talking teddy bear.

There are some good bits.  Marky Mark trying to guess the white trash name of Ted's new squeeze and Ted imitating a Boston girl having an orgasm were my favorites.  Also fairly predictable and derivative.

Straight B.

Actually the fight seen was pretty good too.  :D

Seen, jesus, when did you turn into Tim Ortiz?
