I'm shocked, shocked to see difficulties in trying to form a common position from 27 foreign policies :o

I know Ian Traynor knows better, but people have to stop projecting the EU as some kind of United States of Europe. At it's heart, it's still 27 individual nation states. Never forget that.
" SIR – I must commend you on some of your recent obituaries. I was delighted to read of the deaths of Foday Sankoh (August 9th), and Uday and Qusay Hussein (July 26th). Do you take requests? "

Have we gotten rid of the "unanimous decision" bullshit yet? Otherwise we'll never get anything moving in the EU. And if the small countries whine and whinge - WORK TOGETHER TO VOTE THE BIG ONES DOWN! Sheesh.
We have gotten rid of it for most domestic issues the EU decides on. But not for foreign and security policy as the member states didn't want to lose their veto in that area.
