Despite having served for years as a distinguished Pakistani diplomat, Akbar Zeb reportedly cannot receive accreditation as Pakistan's ambassador to Saudi Arabia. According to this Arabic-language article in the Arab Times, Pakistan had previously floated Zeb's name as ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, only to have him rejected for the same reason. One can only assume that submitting Zeb's name to a number of Arabic-speaking countries is some unique form of punishment designed by the Pakistani Foreign Ministry -- or the result of a particularly egregious cockup.

Zeb probably isn't "dick" in Urdu.

Pakistanis apparently do not use family names to any great extent (a surprising result of a few minutes internet search) so it would be one of his given names.

A quick search confirms the obvious assumption, that "zeb" literally is the Arabic word that equates most closely to the English term "dick".

I would guess a better English translation would be "the greatest dick" rather than "the biggest dick". I still can't understand why Pakistan has tried to send this guy to three different Arabic nations though. After all, his previous postings seem to be mostly to English speaking nations (either in general or where it is an official language.)
