Good, Recent Games?

So, now that I have a computer that can play most games, and the time to play them, I find myself without any games I'm dying to play. I have Red Alert 3, frex, which I bought a year ago, couldn't run, and now have no desire to play.

So, ideas?

GTA IV, Dragon Age: Origins, Call of Duty 4?

Red alert 3 is crap.  You didn't miss anything.  What kind of game are you looking for?
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

COD4 MW2 is fantastic, stupid fun for multiplayer.

For online shooters, Team Fortress 2 is alright, but recent changes with the weapons have unbalanced the game. And if you want the weapons, you have to wait for the game to give them to you. So those with no life have everything and will chase you around with a pickaxe.

I'm looking for a team shooter, or an RTS. Was the Warhammer 40k one any good?

Left 4 Dead is supposed  to be great but I don't go in for team shooters.  Having a ton of fun with GTA 4 at the moment.

For an RTS, I can recommend Company of Heroes. You can do as I did buying the basic game and the expansion off Steam for very cheap, then buy the third expansion maybe, or get the whole package for like what, 40 bucks.

Dawn of war: Dark Crusade was a very enjoyable RTS.

Civ4
EU3.

All the THQ rts games, Company of Heroes and Dawn of War, are really good, in single and multiplayer.  If you got the THQ complete pack there would be a LOT of rts games to go through.  Although it was on sale earlier this month so might want to wait and see if it happens again.

For team shooters, I'm still playing TF2 2 years after I first got it, and they're still releasing free new updates and maps.

I'm thinking of picking up Crysis, which just came out with a free multiplayer Mechwarrior mod

I can't be arsed to start a new thread so- any good strategy games lately?
I tried East India Company and found it totally meh. A simple flash game given proper game graphics and load times.
Tropico 3 doesn't work on my computer :(

The problem is that strategy games are largely the province of PC games and nobody makes PC games anymore.

Starcraft 2 is in development, if you haven't heard.

Nobody makes PC games indeed. That's ridiculous.

For those looking for a good RTS, play Starcraft.
It can't be helped...We'll have to use 'that'

I think Josq was asking for strategy games, not RTS games.  The answer is that I don't know of any.  Vainglory of Nations looks promising, but then all AGEOD games do, before they come out.
