They poked a hole in him and he left.  One of the impressions I got of Mythos is that despite how powerful the monster gods are and how unimportant human beings are they spend alot of time on Earth.  Being stuck for one reason or another.  It would be as if Superman spent all his time sleeping on Jimmy Olsen's couch constantly telling him how he is the superior being.
