There is an air raid siren going off in Nanjing right now.  The reason?  72 years ago today - at this very hour - Japanese troops entered Nanking and perpetuated the atrocities that later became known as the "Rape of Nanking".  Every year, to mark that anniversary, the government here plays air raid sirens to mark that event.   :(
