Frankly, I don't see what the pork craze is about. I don't think pork is particulary tasty per se.

Unless we're speaking about Iberic ham or other cold cuts.  :mmm: :mmm: :mmm: :mmm: :mmm: :mmm:

Bacon??? Ribs?  SAUSAGE??? Pork chops?

Ribs and chops I don't particulary care for. Veal is better for the former and lamb for the latter. Bacon and sausages are spiced a lot, so the flavour of the meat is not "pure".

You should see the faces that a friend of mine's girlfriend when she tries the local stuff. She's from Extremadura and they have an almost religious veneration to Iberian pork products at her home.

I wonder if pig is winning because of the format of the poll. I voted for it, but it's a clear #2 to cow imo.

It is winning because it is awesome.

Veal ribs?  That's a new one on me.

Yes pork sausage gets spiced, but we have to credit the pig for it's ability to merge with the spice and become greater than the sum of the parts.

Never heard of spicing bacon.

I know. Whenever someone goes to one of the solar power plants we've done in Extremadura he invariably returns with the vehicle full of the stuff for the rest of the workmates. :D

Hmmm

Bighorn sheep was very tasty. I also liked moose a lot.  The best burger is buffalo, I can buy it in the Safeway here, but elk burger is a close second.

Don't mind caribou either. :mmm:

I had moose soup yesterday.  It was good.

I voted fish / sea food (on account of there being so many possible tastes and kinds), pig (on account on so many parts of pigs being edible and tasting so good) and deer (since I included other types of venison in that).

Cow, Turkey, and Other: Bison.

Quite a few votes for fish/sea creatures, I didn't have Languish pegged as a seafood loving community.

I'm more surprised at the number for birds.

I'm slowly starting to enjoy pork.  I think it got ruined for me because when I was a kid the only pork I ever remember eating was ridiculously over-cooked - at the time I just thought I didn't like it.
