Happy Poland's Independence Day (and a bunch of other armistice holidays to the rest of you).  :bowler:

Yeah, November 1918 was a bad month for the three black eagles... Happy birthday, Poland!

"Everything that brought you here -- all the things that made you a prisoner of past sins -- they are gone. Forever and for good. So let the past go... and live."

"Somebody, after all, had to make a start. What we wrote and said is also believed by many others. They just don't dare express themselves as we did."

Razgovory

My great Grandfather was wounded on this day in 1918.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

I drank because I wanted to drown my sorrows, but now the damned things have learned to swim.

Happy Finally Getting Your Country Back Again Day.

And, on behalf of an incredibly ungrateful Western Civilization, thank you for the Miracle on the Vistula, Poland.

I suspect Marty's ancestors rooted for the Soviets.

 Na zdrowie!

A blatant play for Marti's favor? Shame.
My dad's side of the family is all of Polish descent.  Both my grandfather and grandmother were first generation Americans. ;)

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.
