PC only. I find console games to be lacking in depth, although I've never tried them.

Granted, many (most?) console games still build on the old arcade paradigm of simplicity over depth, but that statement is hilarious in so many ways.  :P

I'm a PC gamer by necessity, not really by choice. I've always preferred table-top gaming whether it be RPG or board games but it's been more and more difficult as time goes by. Possibly because I've gotten more and more lazy. I've had plenty of opportunities to play board games with Viking here in Trondheim, for instance, but when I have the choice between sitting my ass down in my sofa and actually dragging myself over to whatever locale they're playing in, the sofa has a strange and mystical gravitational pull.

I'm a gamer. I prefer PC games but one of these days I'll buy a new console.

Barely played anything of any variety since I got my own place. There's a board games group (proper gamer's games) at work, but I really can't be arsed.

What a strange question to ask on this forum.

"Are you a gamer?"  How many "no" answers would one expect?  How could the answer to this question possibly be significant?

I've been moving away from PC and console games. Haven't left them completely, but looking at the PC and Console shelf at the Best Buy makes me go meh.

Yep.  There tends to only be a small number of games I want to play...which I suppose works out since I do not really have time to play very many these days.

That is why for the past month, I've been playing Team Fortress 2 in 15-30 minute bursts.

From today, Sky TV is available through XBox Live without a dish, which may tempt me to use it more.

Siege

I don't have much time for gaming, but when I do is exclusively PC games.

Because many of us played EU2 or HOI 7-8 years ago I should assume nothing's changed?

As for significance, this is the internet.

It's a pertinent question. I thought pretty much the same thing when I first read it, but then I stopped to think and realized that I spend a lot less time gaming now than I did 8 years ago, so it's certainly relevant.

Though I guess a more interesting excersise would be to make this a multiple question poll and have everyone retake it every year or so, to see how we develop as a society.

Not so much. One doesn't have to play a game to decide it isn't going to be interesting. I feel the same way, and would add to that the majority of PC games. The difference is that there are a few PC games that are enjoyable while I've never seen a console game that looked like it would hold my interest. Especially when it would have to justify the cost of a whole new system as well.

If you haven't tried it, you cannot possibly make a credible statement that there is no console game with depth.

There are plenty of console titles with a depth comparable to similar PC titles. The fact that the platform doesn't lend itself to wargames doesn't change that.

That you don't like consoles is fine, but making claims as to the content of console games when you haven't tried them is ludicrous.
