AFTER GRADUATING FROM JACKSONVILLE STATE IN 1974, DIETER BROCK SIGNED A ONE-YEAR CONTRACT WITH WINNIPEG AND ASSUMED THE STARTING QUARTERBACK ROLE OCTOBER 5, 1975. ALWAYS KNOWN FOR HIS STRONG ARM, HE TRAINED BY THROWING WEIGHTED STEEL BALLS AT A TARGET.

BROCK HAD 34,830 YARDS ON 4,535 PASS ATTEMPTS AND 2,602 COMPLETIONS. HE THREW 210 TOUCHDOWN PASSES AND HAD A 57.4% COMPLETION RATIO. ON OCTOBER 3, 1981 HE COMPLETED 41 PASSES, 16 OF THEM CONSECUTIVELY, AND COMPLETED AN OUTSTANDING 87.2% ON THE DAY. HE WAS THE CFL PASSING LEADER IN 1978, 1980, 1981 AND 1984. DIETER BROCK PLAYED IN THE 1984 GREY CUP CHAMPIONSHIP.  HE WAS INDUCTED TO THE WINNIPEG FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME IN 1990.
