Should I feed my dog high quality dog food?

My cat gets a high-quality cat food - which she rarely touches except in winter.

She mostly eats mice, out of preference.

It's actually been a bit of a revelation just how many rodents exist out of doors. She eats at least one a night (judging by the bits we find), and never a shortage.

one of our cats acts like a whingey baby. but if we feed him higher end stuff, his behavior improves quite a bit. he's much much calmer.
