Does "Cops" air in your country

When I was traveling throught Egypt I met an Australian man who told me that the only "American" news channel they get their is Fox News; they get the international version of CNN.  So he was left that America was being destroyed by illegal Mexican immigrants and that Bill O'Reily spoke for all of us.

Seeing the Canucks get fired up about Fox News reminded me of that conversation.  Probably the only show that could give one a worse view of the United States than Fox News programming is "Cops."  Cops is a wonderful slice of cinéma vérité on Fox; it features news crews riding around with law enforcement officers as they bust criminals.  The criminals they catch tend to be uneducated, belligerent and drunk.  In America it's the chance for the white middle class to laugh at the underprivledged from the safety of our living room.  I was wondering if the show can be seen in the rest of the world and how it is viewed.
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

Grey Fox

Every Saturday nite at 8 pm on Fox 44 Burlington-Plattsburg-Montreal.
Colonel Caliga is Awesome.

Yep - Channel 6 in Sweden acquired the rights for it a few years ago and began airing old episodes 19.00 every weekday.

No and I pity anyone who suggests otherwise.

Typical canuck television programming. Cheap knock off of American shit.

Its on satalite. Not a big deal.
But we do get that kind of picture from the US in our own tv programmes showing police clips; as well as following UK officers they also show stuff from abroad, mainly the US. They always contrast with the UK ones by being so much more extreme.

Yeah.  We also get Fox News which is the only 'American' news channel.  We get CNN International which even Hans has described as pretty good, if a bit dull.  And in the 90s we got Jerry Springer.

Edit:  Hell we even get Judge Judy.
Let's bomb Russia!

We don't (AFAIK) get Fox News here, but we get several Fox "entertainment" channels that are quite good (Family Guy, Simpsons, Poker, Huff, etc).

Although we don't get those we have something like you're describing "Cops" on a so called "Reality Channel", but it seems Australians fight with Americans for the prize of retarded criminals.

On American news networks, we get CNN Int, MSNBC and Bloomsberg.

Well, duh.  It's the one and only "reality" TV show.

I was watching a really good documentary on Dallas SWAT last year.  I've never seen so many people laying in a front yard with zip ties around their wrists before.

Heh, we do export our best shows.  The first time when I was in London there was "Jerry Springer, the Opera" playing at some theater.  I didn't see it and it never made it to Detroit.   :(

yeah, it can be seen here.  I watched parts of a few shows, but it's not my cup of tea.
I'm always wondering if the arrests aren't stage or something.  It's just that, even in the US, seeing a naked guy walking around with a AK-47 seems too cliché.  But hey, I suppose it can happen.

We do get CNN, though it's been ages since I watch the channel.  AFAIK, the last time I watched CCN 'live', I think it was on 9/11.  Since then, I'm mostly reading the site rather than paying for the cable channel.

We've had Fox News since a couple of years now, 2005 or 2006 I think.  I watched the free preview, thought it was like listening to Hansmeister all day long, decided it wasn't worth paying for.  Reading their spins on their web site left me inclined to believe I was not missing much.  Also, seeing many Americans of this board calling this "a joke" or "over the top" did comfort my choice :P
