a lot of marvel cartoons back on the day.
True, I did like the xmen cartoon.
Still, it wasn't THAT huge a deal.
And apart from that I can recall nought except the old spiderman one from the 70s.

I know Disney has been quite successful, but it's hardly a genre. Or are you implying that children's movies is an American genre?

Well "genre" isn't perhaps the best word but they have a quite distinct style.

As a child I watched X-Men, Spiderman, Fantastic Four and Iron Man.

Conquered, ignorant, poor, and charge the tanks with lances.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

I've never gotten the assosiation of Marvel/DC with childhood (thats one REALLY rich kid...) but still its pretty bad,

Those comics are damned expensive.
Even for me these days let alone a kid.
Comics used to be pretty cheap.  Then again, I suppose your family chose to take sides with Moscow against the UK, so your childhood was probably pretty poor.
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

None of the above.  It's not so much that my childhood is raped, it's just that Marvel's rich history is going to take a beating, even worse than it has been in recent years.

 We call it canon, and they call it being written into a corner. They call it taking a new direction, and we call it a filthy reboot.

Siege

I think is great.
Hannah Montana would look awesome in an spiderman movie.
Also, I hope she and Alex Russo join the Avengers.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.
