In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

That was yesterday.  So it's Wednesday now, the bombings are threatened to resume if Iran does not negotiate something.

Operation enduring peace is over.

The Minsky Moment

"Operation Epic Fury"
"Operation Freedom"

The cringe never ends.
We have, accordingly, always had plenty of excellent lawyers, though we often had to do without even tolerable administrators, and seen destined to endure the inconvenience of hereafter doing without any constructive statesmen at all.

To be fair your country used stupid names long before the trump presidency

We have been doing that shit forever. I cannot remember the last time we named an operation that sounded like military people came up with the name instead of marketing people.

We would have named Operation Overlord Operation Norman Conquest today.

Remember when Bush called the war in Iraq a crusade?  The blunders of America past, present, and future.

No he called the War on Terror a crusade years before the War in Iraq. It was in the months just after 9/11.

Operation Crusader was an actually interestingly named and successful military operation versus Operation Iraqi Freedom, which might as well have been called "Operation Invade Iraq" for all the operational security that name brought.

Oh my goodness yeah you're so right that the speech Bush gave had absolutely no connection to the decision to go to war with a rack shortly thereafter.  The American ability to ignore obvious facts to defend their precious republic, and the reputation of their presence is astounding.

You are so weird. I don't see how Bush's gaffe being early on and not later during the run up to the Iraq war reflects any better on the Republic. Just stating when it happened. The funny thing is I would gladly take Bush's rhetoric now. He was a towering statesman compared to the current shitshow. Which just shows how the bar is now in hell.

Also it had nothing to do with what I was talking about. The Iraq War was never called Operation Crusade.

Given that Israel has called their attack on Lebanon "operation eternal darkness" I think the US is pushed into second place.

I guess Netanyahu never wonders "are we the bad guys?".

CC is moving rapidly to a Raz phase. Not worth engaging with.
