20 years of Languishing

Yeah, personally I'm a KAPlander. We got amalgamated into languish at some point.

I was just looking up about kapland on p'dox as I recall visiting at times but preferred the tamer waters of Languish.

I used to be a bit of a regular at the Lonely Planet Thorntree but haven't visited much lately.

I peek in at Languish and KAPland.

Other than that, I do most of my trash talking at bars and pubs .

Although I think I registered quite early, I only started posting here in earnest once I started my first full time job, so around 18-19 years ago.

As Garbon, I have trouble imagining a life without Languish being there. I suspect you guys greatly affected my English-language cultural and political exposure and as a result likely have had a big influence on the course of my life.

Yeah - I posted on KAPland for awhile (I even went to KAPapalooza!), but it had even less traffic than Languish (which was really hopping at one point).  I think it just died, but then didn't we have a separate KAPland backroom here at Languish - which was mostly used for posting naked pics?  I think we must have lost that during the great server re-set of 2009.

Yeah I think we either got older and less pervy, or more likely with the even greater abundance of porn on the internet in the last 20 years it just became redundant.

We lost the posts and so on, but as I recall it went like this:

• KAPland and Languish were separate boards
• KAP stopped running KAPland. Languish hosted a separate KAPland area.
• The KAPland part of Languish got renamed "the Backroom".
• Enough non-KAPland folks got added to the Backroom over time that the KAPland identity disappeared.
