Grabbed this one on special, on GOG the other day.  Almost finished.

It's a nice game, mostly action game while I thought it would be more RPG-like.

While you do have to climb rocks, glide down ropes, etc, unlike some other games (looking at you, Jedi: Fallen Order), it ain't the goal of the game, so it's extremely easy and well marked; climbing is automatic once you grab a ledge/handle, you just move up/down and there it goes.

It is a world overrun by machines, in the 31st century.  There are ruins of the ancient ones, the previous civilizations, so judging by the shape of the machines and the the ruins, you can guess real quickly that "ancient" humans created machines that overran the world and destroyed their civilization.

You play Aloy, a brave hunter from one of the tribes of this new world, located somewhere around modern Utah.  You travel in a world where that are small mammals and birds and huge machines that generally leave you alone until you get to close.

However, since some little time ago, the machines are becoming corrupted and are becoming much more aggressive toward humans.  And as a hostile tribe attacks your village, Aloy bravely sets into the world to seek out this new danger.

It's a nice game, but it tends to get repetitive as it lacks diversity.  Hunt for small animals (nothing bigger than a boar) to get their meat and skin, hunt for machines to get their parts.  Bigger machines are obviously harder to kill, but the strategy is always the same: hit their weapons first to disarm them, if they're very big, you can use it against them.  Not that many weapons.  Various types of bows, but basically, you use 1 hunter bows with either flaming or piercing arrows for machines, a different bow to shoot at human enemies from further away and hopefully one-shot kill them.  Sometimes, you can use some specialize "machine-gun bow" that shoots multiple arrows at once from close range.

The game was released in 2017 on PS4, 2020 on PC.

All in all, I have spent a nice time.  It's a decent story, and it was worth the 15$ I paid.  Don't think I will play the sequel though.  I'd much rather replay the Witcher or Skyrim.

If Microsoft Excel decided to stop working overnight, the world would practically end.

Another from the list of PS4 games I will play when the Ps5 gets its V1 design flaws ironed out and becomes more widely available.

I have heard the sequel is bad.

It plays very well on a PC, with keyboard and mouse. :)
Don't know the hardware requirement though.

I have this game and started playing it a while back.  I thought the theme was awesome but as soon as I realized you couldn't save anywhere/anytime, I shelved it.  I might go back to it eventually but if I ever get to a certain point, die, and have to backtrack a bit, I'll ragequit and never play it again.

Yeah, that was annoying.  There are savepoints before major events/fights though.
